Student Registration & Abstracts

Abstracts for the 2010 Student Research Forum may be submitted from 12:00 pm on January 4, 2010 until 4:30 pm on March 5, 2010. The ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SITE is available during the online registration period only.

Submission of your abstract for either an Oral or Poster presentation will be submitted online. Your registration and abstract can be submitted from any computer with Internet access on-campus or off‑campus.

Complete information for submitting the abstract will consist of:

  1. minimum of two authors: you, as the presenting author, and your research advisor/mentor,
  2. title of the research presentation,
  3. a 250 word abstract of the research project,
  4. one or more keywords descriptive of the research, and
  5. selection of one to three research topics that will be used to place your oral presentation into a topic session for the Forum. Note: Poster presentations up to a maximum of 24 will be grouped into a single late afternoon session). 

The on-line process guides you through these requirements, alerting you when your submission is complete or not.

Special Instructions for Abstracts:

  1. The title should be in title case not all capitals.
  2. Do not repeat the title in teh body of the abstract.
  3. Do not use degree titles in your name.

Both oral and poster presentations will be judged by panels of volunteer faculty researchers (see page below or visit http://www.studentresearchforum.org/scoring.htm for scoring criteria), and results will be announced with awards presented at the SRF Awards Banquet on Friday, 16 April 2010.  Please note that the format and judging of oral presentations is changing this year.  Please see the above listed web site for further information.
